DAVID MATTHEWS - Design Assistant

David joined tensARC full-time at the end of 2007. Previously he had worked for tensARC on a casual basis helping out with large installation projects.

David initially studied Geography and English at Dundee University. He left with an interest in digital cartography and Geographical Information Systems. After a short spell as a resaerch assistant, he moved to North of Scotland Water working in their GIS department.

Following his interest in computers David left NoSWA to return to Dundee University and study for an MSc in Applied Computing, gaining a distinction. He stayed on to work towards a PhD in Applied Computing. This looked at computer modelling of Martian geomorphology and was awarded in 2007.

Apart from working for tensARC David is a committed member of the Royal Navy Reserve. When not working his interests include rock-climbing, snowboarding, and white-water canoeing.
